MOUNTIANS NEAR ISSYK-KUL LAKE
Day 1. Meeting in airport, transfer to hotel, city-tour.
Arrival in airport "Manas" early morning, transfer to the hotel, short rest, late breakfast. At 10:00 excursion of Bishkek (visit Historical Museum, Central Square, Pobeda Square, Michael Frunze's Museum). Excursion finish at 14:00 near the hotel, free time.
|Bishkek is the capital of Kyrgyz Republic was founded in the end of XIX century. First name - Pishpek, and it called Frunze in USSR period. In 1991 it was renamed to Bishkek. City is located on the North of republic in the middle of Chu Valley near foothills of Kyrgyz Ala-Too. Population of Bishkek is above 1 million. In present, city is one of the prosperity cities in Central Asia. City has many historical monuments, museums and theatres - Frunz Museum, Historical Museum, Victory Square, Ala-Too Square, Fine Art Museum, Opera and Ballet Theatre, Erkindik Boulevard, Philharmonic.|
Day 2. Trekking in Natural Park Ala - Archa, (8 hours).
Departure is at 08:00. Transfer from Bishkek to the trek start point takes 1 hour. Today you'll have easy trek in the Nature Park of Ala-Archa. The offering route - waterfall in Ak-Say Gorge. Trek up to the waterfall takes 3 hours. The lunch is organizing near waterfall in the forest, and then group return to alpine camp (duration 2 hours). Rest, excursion to memorial alpinist cemetery. At 17:30 the group gathering near the car for departure to Bishkek, return to the hotel, free time.
|The National Natural Park "Ala-Archa" was founded in 1976; it is located in same name valley 35 km from Bishkek among mountains of Kyrgyz Range. The area is 19,4 thousands of hectares. Exclusive landscapes (forest, alpine meadows, mountains, glaciers, waterfalls) and simple access easiness are attracting here many people for rest, hiking, trekking, and ascending. In the time of Soviet Union the alp camp "Ala-Archa" disposed here, one of the most famous alpinist center.|
Day 3. Transfer from Bishkek to yurt camp on the shore of Issyk-Kyl Lake (8 hours).
Departure from Bishkek at 9:00; transfer to Burana Tower, excursion. After excursion continue transfer and in an hour - organizing lunch at roadside cafe. After lunch continue transfer to Issyk-Kul Lake to the yurt camp "Quiet Bay". Yurt camp is located on the south shore of the Issyk-Kul Lake in beautiful, pictorial bay Ak-Chiy. Arrive in yurt camp, free time. At 19:00 - dinner.
The Burana Tower is an architectural monument of the XI-th century. It is located 70 km from Bishkek. The Burana Tower was one of the first constructions of this type on the territory of Central Asia. The Minaret and the remains of the Serf Walls are the only witnesses of Karahanid's State capital Balasagyn, once existed there. One of the ways of The Great Silk Road passed through the town.
Issyk-Kul Lake is located on 1610 m above sea level, 170 km from Bishkek. There are Tien-Shan mountains around it. From Kyrgyz "Issyk-Kul" means "warm lake". The Lake is justify it's name, since big volume of warming water in summer time and salt water are make it non-freezing all over the year, nevertheless that the temperature of air is - 30°C degrees in winter. It is 180 km long, 70 km across, 702 m deep. Water temperature of the lake is + 24°C degrees in summer and not lower + 4°C degrees in winter. The transparent of this lake is setting it with cleanest lakes of the world. Among alpine lakes all over the world, Issyk-Kul is smaller by its size only with Titicaca Lake in South America, but by volume of water and depth isn't has equal. In period from May till September, the air temperature in area of water is warm up + 20°C +35°C degrees. The number of sunny days is reach 95% in this period, that is to allow make sun bathes almost everyday. Mountains around the lake are covered with fir-trees forests, higher forest zone are alpine meadows with variety of flowers and grass. At altitude above 4000m the zone of never-freeze ice begin, with summits higher than 5000m. Beautiful sandy beaches, variety of landscapes are allowed diversity rest - hiking, trekking, ascends, horse-treks, diving, sailing-tours and so on.
Yurt - is the traditional nomadic dwelling. The original design was constructed to ensure an easily collapsible and transportable structure to correspond with the nomadic people's need to follow their herds seeking new pastures. The walls of the yurt are typically made from birch laths formed into a lattice framework and held together by leather strips. They put on this carcass a felt cover with a hole on the top (tunduk) for the fresh air and illumination.
Day 4. Transfer to the trek start point, trek along Tosor Gorge (8 hours).
At 09:00 after breakfast transfer to the trek start point and will go up over small range to Tosor Gorge. On the way you can see beautiful panorama of Issyk -Kul Lake. In the forest you will have lunch picnic. On the bank of the stream organizing tent camp on the forest glade.
Day 5. Trekking along Tosor Gorge to foothill of Tosor Pass (6 hours).
At 09:00 after breakfast trekking up along Tosor Gorge toward Tosor Pass. On the way you will see ancient tombs (mazars), nomad's lifestyle and gorgeous nature, beautiful Big Stone with Buddhist and Arabic inscriptions. Not far from Big Stone organizing lunch. After lunch continue trek about 3 hours. Organizing tent camp not far from Tosor Pass.
Day 6. Trekking over Tosor Pass (3893m) and Kerege-Tash Pass (3684m) to Chunkurkul Lake, (8 hours).
At 09:00 after breakfast trekking up to Tosor Pass. Trek up takes about 2 hours. The road is turn to West, down to the Ashyylyy-Tebe beyond the pass. There is beautiful view on valley from this place. Highland of this valley is uninhabited. There is nobody, except wild animals. You can see Kerege-Tash Pass and big Chunkur-Kol Lake beyond the pass from highland of valley. Chunkur-Kol Lake is the finish point of trek today. Trek down to the foot of Tosor Pass to the little lake. Organizing lunch on the shore of the lake. After - continue trek to East along the Ashulu-Tebe River. Valley is flat and very large, with many little rivers. There is old road around Chunkur-Kol Lake beyond the Kerege-Tash Pass. On this road you're going down on the gorge. Organizing tent camp 3 on the bank of the lake. Rest time you can use for walking
around the camp.
Day 7. Rest, walking around camp.
Day 8. Trekking over Sary-Moynok pass (3126 m) Barskoon Gorge, (7 hours).
At 09:00 after breakfast begin our trek. The trek today will be easy. During day - trek down on Kerege-Tash gorge. Soon after start - crossing river Kerege-Tash on green hills, go down to the right gorge. In the place, where the gorge begins to be narrowed, you are pass through side creek and go down to the main Kerege-Tash River. Good path begin here. Vegetations - archa and first fir-trees are appearing on the slopes. Lunch on the glade near the river. After lunch - continue trek down along Kerege-Tash River. You can see rock top with many stone towers, looks like old castle, on the left slope. Gorge is begining to be narrow; path goes to the middle of slope and to Sary-Moinok Pass. There is beautiful view on Barskoon and Dungureme Passes and you can see our tomorrow's way to Dungureme Pass from this place. Trek down to Baskoon Gorge on good earth road. Organizing tent camp 4 on the forest glade.
Day 9. Trekking over Dyungyuryomyo Рass (3773m) to Djuukuu Gorge, (9 hours).
Today will be hard day; it is necessary to start early. At 07:00 begin trek after breakfast. Going to the place of confluence of Barskoon and Dungureme gorges on the road. Pass little fir-trees forest by right side of gorge, cross the river Dungureme. Dungureme in translate from Kyrgyz means "crying river". The river in this place flows on the abrupt slope and make a lot of noise, warrant fully its name. Continue trek up to the foot of pass along river. Turn to the left before confluence of two rivers, to the gorge, which goes to Dungureme Pass. Soon the gorge is become flat and wide. Crossing river and organizing lunch near big stones. Continue trek up on Dungureme Pass (1 hour) after lunch. Trek down on the left side of gorge to stoned hill. Cross the river opposite of hill where the gorge started to be narrow and continue trek down along gorge to the place of confluence Djuukuu Gorge. Cross river Dungureme near destroying bridge, go down on the earth road to the glade with big stones. Organizing tent camp 5.
Day 10. Radil trek to Djuukuu Pass, (5-6 hours).
Breakfast at 09:00. After breakfast, wishing can hiking to the lakes and on the Djuukuu Pass (3633 m). Go up to the place of confluence with Dungureme River (repeat our yesterday way) and cross the river on the right bank. Trek up to the second lake on old earth road. Here you can have a rest, wishing can trek down to the first lake (it's invisible from the road). Further, go up on the road on green hills and come to third lake. Inhabits are call this lake "Djashyk-Kyol", in translate from Kyrgyz it is mean Green Lake, because water in this lake is green colour. The road around of lake goes to the Djuukuu Pass. There is panorama of Ara-Bel valley and Djuukuu Gorge opening from this pass. Lunch on the pass or on the bank of Djashyk-Kyol Lake. Come back to the camp after lunch.
Day 11. Trekking along Djuuku Gorge to finish point, transfer to yurt camp, (9 hours).
At 09:00 start trek after breakfast. Trek down on the Djuuku Gorge to the place of confluence Ashuu-Kashka-Suu. Trek down takes about 4 hours. You can see some yurts on the way and meet with customs and life of herdsmen. You can find mushrooms on the western slopes. Mushrooms may be using as great additional for dinner. Lunch near the bridge through Djuukuu River, near marmoreal blocks. Cross Djuukuu River by bridge after lunch. Go up to the bridge through Ahuu-Kashka-Suu River on the road, the end of trekking.
Transfer to shore of the Issyk-Kul Lake in yurt camp "Quiet Bay".
Day 12. Transfer to Bishkek, (5-6 hours).
Breakfast, free time. Departure to Bishkek at 13:00, after lunch, accommodation in hotel.
Day 13. Free day in Bishkek.
After breakfast city-tour, visit to market, shopping of souvenirs, at 19:00 transfer to restaurant, farewell dinner with folk ensemble, in 2-3 hours transfer to hotel.
|Ensemble of folk instruments. The most popular musical instrument is a three-string pizzicato komuz alike mandolin with three stringers. The stringers are made from animal tendon. A two-stringer bow kyyak and reed temir-ooz-komuz are also popular. Temir-ooz-komuz is the instrument, made from iron plate. It is put up between teeth, and produce specifically guttural sounds in time of playing. A reed jigach-ooz-komuz, a wind flute choor, and a wind surnay are national musical instruments used by people in folk-musical practice. You can see and hear these instruments only in Kirgizia.|
Day 14. Transfer to airport "Manas".
Transfer to airport "Manas" early morning, departure.
